ACCPD and UGAPD Make Arrest in Armed Robbery Investigations
On October 22, 2021, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, with the assistance of the University of Georgia Police Department, arrested Laquavion Baughns, 16, of Athens, GA, for the armed robberies that occurred on October 16, 2021. At this time, Baughns is in custody for the October 16, 2021 armed robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Pope Street, the October 16, 2021 armed robbery that occurred in the area of Second Street and Dr. MLK Jr. Parkway, and the October 16, 2021 armed robbery that occurred in the 300 block of Willow Street. Additionally, Baughns is in custody for the October 13, 2021 armed robbery that occurred in the area of Mitchell Street and Williams Street. Baughns is being charged as an adult for all of the aforementioned crimes.
