The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred on May 2, 2020 around 2:00 PM in the 100 block of E. Cloverhurst Avenue.

The ACCPD, with the assistance of a Georgia Bureau of Investigations sketch artist, releases the sketch of a person of interest in the case. This sketch depicts the person of interest that was seen in the area prior to the assault. Of importance to note that the wave cap or du-rag he was wearing at the time was orange in color.

A Crime Stoppers reward is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator.

 

Transportation and Parking Services' annual Operation Safe Drive event is November 21, 2019 - 10:00am to 2:00pm


On November 21st, all University of Georgia students, faculty and staff are invited to have their vehicle inspected for free at the Tate Center Parking Deck during Transportation and Parking Services' annual Operation Safe Drive event.

To help drivers prepare for safe travel during the holidays, mechanics from UGA Transportation and Parking Services and the Facilities Management Division will top off fluids, check belts and wiper blades, pressurize tires and do a quick visual inspection of vehicles free of charge.

No car? No problem – the UGA Office of Sustainability in partnership with Bike Athens will offer free bicycle safety inspections and tune-ups. At approximately 4:05 a.m. on this date the University of Georgia Police Department received a report of an Armed Robbery that had just occurred inside the North Campus Deck.  Two visitors to campus who were asleep in a vehicle were awoken by two Latino males who produced a black handgun and took several items from the victims.  The suspects left the scene traveling away from campus in a silver 2009 Honda Civic bearing Georgia tag RPI 0447.  The vehicle has a rear spoiler and after-market light gray wheels.  No injuries were sustained by either victim.  Anyone who has any information that may be related to this incident or who sees the vehicle involved is asked to contact the University of Georgia Police Department at 706-542-2200 as soon as possible.
